Good Food News - More Women in Agriculture
As the average age of farmers is getting older, more women are stepping up and stepping into the agricultural decision making. Family farms have always had women as an integral part of their day-to-day operations and now more women are graduating from college with agricultural degrees.
The number of female producers increased 27 percent in the five years between 2012 and 2017, according to the first new federal census of U.S. I love to see women cracking the glass ceiling on that barn!
