Sum It Up Sunday - Where? Here or There...
Tomorrow I head out to Scotland. I’ll be there for a whole month. When I returned to the US after my year round journey, I knew, in my heart of hearts, that I had to keep traveling.
The journey has continued here in the US. Last summer I hit up a bunch of states I hadn’t gotten too. I’ve driven back and forth across the US several times. For my birthday last year I was in Montreal for a week or so. Yet I wanted more.
So off to Scotland I go. There is rumored to be an amazingly vibrant vegan scene there (vegan haggis, anyone?), historic architecture, and men in kilts. Big men. Sometimes they throw heavy things. And if you know me at all, you know I WANT TO SEE THAT!
I’ve been scrimping, saving and doing the odd freelance bit here and there in order to get there. Someday, soon I hope, the podcast may start paying for itself so I keep moving around the world.
I am going to take a moment here my friends, to rant. I’ve put time and energy into Something About Food? because I believe wholeheartedly in what we are doing. Bringing everyone to the table for conversation and community through our shared food talks is more, to me, than a hobby. I know that the folks who are guests and those who are listening get this.
